RDP ENSEMBLE
An initiative of the organization ÉQUIPE RDP
In light of the positive impression of the BLM mural at Don Bosco Park, which the youth now call BLM, the idea came up to revitalize the entire grounds of Armand Bombardier Park. Through a conversation with a group of young people from the neighborhood, we found it important to involve them in the artistic process. It was important for us to have a unifying quote so that all citizens, especially youth, would feel connected. We were inspired by their sharing in order to create a space for them.
Covered in shades of blue, orange and green, these colors do not go unnoticed on the basketball court. Moreover, these colors are those that the young people chose. We wanted to complement the environment to attract the eyes! This basketball court is a place for youth to play, recharge their batteries or meet friends in a space that is their own. This colorful and peaceful space promotes living together to create an oasis of positivity for the youth of the neighborhood.
The intention of this artistic experience is to strengthen the community and the sense of belonging for families. This revitalization will contribute to the cultural heritage of the Rivière-des-Prairies neighbourhood, a gathering place to celebrate the richness of the community's youth.
