Being a woman of many talents, putting her in a box simply wouldn’t do her justice. Outside of the creative field, her goal is to inspire authenticity and power in others simply by being true to herself.

How do you support women in your everyday life?

Contrary to what some might think, I feel like being a woman in a male dominated creative field puts me in a position of power. I have the power to bring in new perspectives, I have the power to produce content that elevates and represents women. I can make conscious decisions that protect women, that keep us in mind, get us paid and show us in a positive light. I don’t see myself being a minority as a disadvantage at all.

I feel the same way when it comes to women of colour. Being a black woman makes me more aware of certain things that the average person in my position (mostly white and/or male) wouldn’t even consider. I have the privilege and power that comes with being behind the scenes, controlling the narrative while representing women and black women without even trying, because that’s just who I am.

I feel very proud and privileged to be in a position where just being myself, being a female leader and a black woman, supports the idea that all women can be bosses, call the shots, make confident decisions, lead a team and achieve beautiful things.
